The Mayan civilization was present in several countries of Central America but the most important cities were in Guatemala. Thanks to the magnificent architecture and material used by the Mayans, today, we can appreciate impressive cities, temples and stelae that have survived the passing of time. Many buildings still hidden in the middle of the jungle, the Mayan ruins are a continuous mystery of eternal growth. As one of the most dominant indigenous civilizations in the Americas, the Mayans excelled thanks to their complex writing system, extraordinary architecture, impressive mathematics, and their highly sophisticated calendar and astronomical system. In this workshop, Andrea Sandoval talked about the history of this civilization and how it still had a strong presence in the country, as well as the ruins of the cities that were still found in all the country.
